Just Stop (For a Moment)

So often we focus so deeply on the problems that we are currently faced with. We focus so much on that problem that the world falls away and all that is left is you, the problem, and your thoughts that revolve around it.

If you are focused so deeply on that problem, you begin to forget a few important details...

  1. The problem is there in the moment, not you. You have literally taken the identity of the conflict and have lost yours when you focus deeply on the problem
  2. There are more important things to consider. If you rush the solution to the problem, you tend to find solutions that are very narrowed and centered to your situation. Think in larger portions so that your solution may be applied to other situations as well
  3. You are small, and the world is big. If you have ever been on the top of a cliff or mountain, and looked down at the world below you, you know the feeling. It’s a beautiful feeling. To marvel at excellent imperfections is one of the best things you can do to extract yourself from the small and petty feuds you face daily. No one likes to think of themself as small, but sometimes, we should.
  4. Problems are temporary, the solution can be long lasting. In fact, the solution can form the base of another solution. There’s always room for updating and improving so long as you don’t let the problem engulf you.

We all are imperfect. However, we are perfectly imperfect. I like to think that we are little jigsaw puzzle pieces that will fit perfectly together if we can figure out how. Our connections will conclude to be a magnificent picture, something that is mind blowing.

Understand that sometimes, life circumstances are there to either learn from or shape us. Could be both, who knows? Just be open to the possibility of being wrong, and learning from the most unlikely sources.

I had one of the most stimulating conversations today that really made me think.

Have you ever had one of those? A conversation with a person that made you look into your behavior and re-evaluate your perspective?

If you have then I encourage you to continue to have those. Find someone that prompts the best in you, not the negative.

Life is short and we could all use conversations and communications that will continue to uplift you. And I’m not just talking about uplifting you in your economic or work status. No. I’m talking about uplifting your spirit too.
